Practice 6-8 Cancelled - Rest of the Week Schedule
by posted 06/08/2021

Hello Parents and Players,

Our 6th Grade Juniors, 5th Grade Juniors, Lightning Juniors and Lightning Players had an amazing weekend.  The best part is each of them competed every minute they were in their respective games.  Learning how to compete and how to play at full speed is not easy at this age.  It is almost impossible to coach.  All we can do is put them in situations and hope that each player decides to accept the challenge.  This past weekend EVERY SINGLE PLAYER competed.  I am so proud of all of them.

Tonight 6-8 Lightning and Junior Practice is CANCELLED.  No need to dance with mother nature.

We will have practice this Thursday 6-10 from 5:30 - 7:00.  Juniors please bring and turn in your uniforms on Thursday.

Year end Blueberry Banana Bonanza and BBQ this Saturday.  Game starts at 11:00.  BBQ to follow.  I will bring hot dogs and hamburgers.  Feel free to bring something if you can.

Please consider signing your player up for the Summer Lacrosse.  Information is on the website.  Please find me or Steve Boyce if you have any questions.

Hello Parents and Players,

What an AMAZING effort by our players today.

Niko and Jordan in the goal. AMAZING

Sebbie and Sam and Noah on defense. AMAZING

Charlie, Connor, Owen, and Jameson pretty much everywhere. AMAZING

Our Bantam players on attack. AMAZING

While that was our last game remember we still have practice this week Tuesday and Thursday and then we have our Blueberry Banana game and BBQ next Saturday. Game is at 11:00.

An enormous thank you from me to Coach Steve and Coach Sam. They were AMAZING all season.

Year End Blueberry Banana and BBQ
by posted 06/04/2021

Hello Parents and Players,

First let me compliment all of the players for the attentiveness and respect they showed during our Zoom call last night with Coach Lars Tiffany.  Our players are an amazing group and they represent themselves, their parents and our program wonderfully in every setting.

Final games are this weekend.

On Saturday June 12 at 11:00 am we will have our final installment of the Blueberry vs. Banana Bonanza!!!  Immediately following that game we will have a team BBQ over at the pavillion.  Aside from burgers and dogs, which I will provide, please consider bringing something to share.  There will be burgers and dogs for parents and siblings.

We will also have regular practices next week Tuesday, June 8 and Thursday, June 10.

If you will not be avialble to attend on June 12, just let me know this weekend or next week during practice.

Thank you.

Jim Strub

Our Summer Lacrosse tentatively will begin on Tuesday June 29 and will then switch to every Monday throughout the Summer.  The cost will be $40 per player.  The $40 will cover a shirt and a hat as well as a small administrative fee to the club to help with equipment and field maintenance.  This will be open to players entering 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades in the fall.  Registration will be via the club's website and will open soon.  The plan is to have fun and let these kids improve.  Attendance is ALWAYS optional.  Once you sign up your player can show up whenever they are in town.

Game Times and Zooming with UVA Coach Lars Tiffany
by posted 06/03/2021

Hello Parents and Players,

Junior Players: Saturday our game is at 11:30.  Sunday our game is at 11:00.  Both are at home.  Sorry for any confusion.

Please have your player at the field and under the pavilion tonight a little early at 5:20 if possible.  LARS TIFFANY the University of Virginia Head Men's Lacrosse Coach will be joining us via a Zoom Call for a 5-10 minute conversation.  This past Monday UVA won the Division I National Championship.  This is a great opportunity for our players to meet and hear some inspirational words from one of the best lacrosse coaches in the world.

Given the forecast and the chance of lightning, parents please stay at the field during practice in the event practice is cancelled due to the weather.

Thank you.

Litchfield Hills Youth Lacrosse:  COVID Protocol, 2021 Season

In order to play the 2021 lacrosse season, the following protocols must be followed by coaches, players, and parents:

Player Responsibilities:
1  All players will wear masks when they come to and from the fields and while on the bench.  Masks will not be required during the flow of the game.
2 Players will do their best to socially distance (while masked) on the benches by maintaining a minimum of three feet distance, as feasible.
3 Players will supply their own water bottles.  Water bottles are not to be shared under any circumstances.
4 Players will not share equipment.
5 Players will not attend team functions if they have any symptoms on the COVID checklist.
6 Any player that misses a team function because of illness may only return to practice if they:
have a doctor’s note clearing them to play, OR
have a negative PCR COVID test
7 Players will report to their coach if they have been contact-traced or considered a close contact for a COVID-positive individual at their school, family, work, etc.
8 Players will report to the coach if they have received a positive COVID test.
9 10% of High School players (chosen at random) will obtain a negative COVID test in weeks where our opponents require such a test.

Coaches Responsibilities:
1 Coaches will wear masks while coaching and on the benches.
2 Coaches will take and maintain attendance for all practices and games using the COVID checklist.
3 Coaches will respect the wishes of our opponents regarding COVID protocol.  (This includes players wearing masks on the field if our opponents request that protocol.)
4 Coaches will enforce player responsibilities, including mask-wearing, equipment sharing, etc.

Family / Spectator Responsibilities:
1 Family units (who live in the same household) may watch the games, unmasked and without social distancing, as long as they are six feet away from other spectators.
2 Spectators must be masked walking to and from the fields.
3 Spectators must stay at least six feet apart while watching the game unmasked.  If this is not possible, masks must be worn.
